The recording below is how i was sounding on the KQ2H repeater on 29.620 ( 29.520 input ) in New York and was recorded by a friend of mine in the southern part of the UK and its basically me putting a signal into a repeater in New York to talk to a station in Germany :-)

I had a chat with WA9DKO Bill in Manito il on 28.540 and we were talking about MW dx and i was telling him when conditions are up i can receive WBBM etc then we got round to talking about TVDX and 6 meters. I like this type of contact and its much better than the usual 5/9 bye that you usually get on 10 meters.

I have to admit that I like the quick-fire QSOs when I am trying to add new countries or entering contests (which I only occasionally do) but it's great to have a chat with other hams every now and again, especially when you share the same interests, i.e. MW/TV DX, etc. I used to love 2m for this. Great contacts David.
ReplyDeleteYes same here the 5/9 qso is handy when trying to get a new country or rare dx but i like a bit of a chinwag when they share the same interests etc .
